O triângulo, também conhecido com a designação popular “Ferrinhos”, é um instrumento de percussão popular (mais concretamente um idiofone metálico) usado no folclore português. AS suas origens são incertas, embora se pense que poderá ter existido na Europa a partir do século XV. Consiste num ferro em forma triangular que tem o canto esquerdo aberto, no qual se percute com um pequeno bastão de ferro. É suspenso por uma corda e enquanto uma mão sustenta o triângulo, a outra percute-o. É utilizado nas orquestras e festas populares.

The triangle, also known as the popular name "Ferrinhos " is a popular musical

instrument (specifically a metal idiophone ) which is very much used in Portuguese folklore. Its origins are uncertain, although it is believed that they may have existed in Europe from the fifteenth century. It consists of a triangular-shaped iron that has the top left open, which is struck with a small iron rod. It is suspended by a small rope. To play it the player has to support it with one of the hands and use the other one to hit the triangle with the small rod. It is often used in orchestras and festivals.
